Blessing okagbare claim and set a new record

Nigeria born sprinter Blessing Okagbare has claim a gold medal in this evening’s 100m final at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, archiving a new Games record with her time of 10.85 seconds.
Okagbare’s fast start to the race was a key factor in her winning the race, managing to hold off a late surge by Jamaica’s Veronica Campbell-Brown to claim Team Nigeria’s second gold medal at the games.
After the race, the 25-year old stated ”I am so happy and excited right now. A new season’s best and win. I
stayed patient always like my coach said I should and after 70 metres it just felt easy.” Okagbare is now favourite to win the 200m race coming up later, while she will also compete in the long jump event.
